By-Laws
A. Hierarchy
The hierarchy within the CMBC shall be:
1. Officers
2. Executive Council
3. Membership
This hierarchy shall be circular, whereby each lowest position shall be answerable to the next highest position, and the officers answerable to the general membership. To this end, all correspondence by the membership shall be directed to the Secretary of the CMBC for submission to the proper division within in the CMBC.
B. Terms of Office
1. The term of office shall be for a period of two years from the date of election. The term shall run from November 1 to October 31 to years hence.
2. Special committees shall cease to function when they have completed their duties and brought in a report as directed.
3. In the event that an officer or director is unable to perform his or her duties, the President shall appoint a member to perform his or her duties until such time as that officer or director is able to resume their duties, or an election is scheduled.
C. Nominations and Elections
1. To be eligible for election, candidates must be members in good standing for at least one year, with dues paid to date.
2. Nominations shall be submitted to the general membership at the September meeting of an election year. At that time, nominations from the floor shall be accepted.
3. The election of officers shall be held at the regular October business meeting.
4. A candidate for office, or for directorship, must be present at the meeting when the election is held.
5. If a candidate cannot be at the election meeting, they may contact an officer and inform that officer that he or she does desire the position that he or she has been nominated for, and shall be eligible for election.
D. Dues
1. The dues shall be reevaluated at each October meeting.
2. Regular members shall pay 100% of any future dues increases.
3. Honorary members pay no dues.
4. Dues or initiation fees are payable on an annual basis.
E. General Membership Meetings
1. All general membership meetings shall be open to members, their spouses, guests, and guests of the CMBC. However, active participation is limited to regular members.
2. Notice of each meeting shall be given in the newsletter of the CMBC.
3. The CMBC shall meet as set fourth in the Constitution. Special meetings may be called as necessary.
4. Order of Business:
a. Roll call of members.
b. Reading of minutes of previous meeting.
c. Applications for membership.
d. Voting on applications.
e. Treasurer’s report.
f. Officer’s report.
g. Committee report.
h. Old business.
i. New Business and election of officers.
j. Adjournment.
5. All meetings shall be conducted under Robert’s Rules of Order.
F. Violations of the CMBC Rules
1. Violation of Club Rules may lead to a warning and/or suspension of running privileges of members involved by the Director of an event.
2. Actual guilt and duration of suspension will be determined by the executive council at the nest meeting.
3. Members not renewing by February 28 will be dropped from the active roles.
4. Any dues paid after February 28 will be subject to a $5.00 penalty fee.
G. Adult Membership
1. All persons, upon reaching the age of 18, whether or not they reside in their parent-members home, must secure their own membership in the CMBC.
2. Application for membership shall be submitted in the normal manner and must be voted upon by the general membership at an open meeting.
3. Dues are to be paid at the time of membership acceptance on a pro-rated basis.
4. Adult members must join, and keep current membership, in the appropriate National Sanctioning Group for their models. Membership cards will be checked periodically at the lake.
a. International Model Power Boating Association for power boats.
b. Scale Ship Modelers Association for scale boats.
c. American Model Yachting Association for sailboats.
H. Outside Club Dues
1. The CMBC shall pay the dues for the President to any outside organization that mandates that the President be a part of the Division seeking insurance coverage from that outside organization.
